Termites incl. Coptotermes formosanus

Straight answer up front: Totalnix does not treat termites, and we won’t pretend to. Tampa Bay and Orlando sit in the country’s heaviest termite belt — subterranean colonies (including the aggressive Formosan) build mud tubes up foundations, and drywood swarms move between attics on summer nights. This deserves a dedicated termite specialist with a bond, and we’ll point you to a good one.

Signs you have them

  • Pencil-wide mud tubes climbing the foundation or garage walls
  • Piles of shed wings on sills after a humid evening
  • Six-sided sand-grain pellets below tiny holes in wood (drywood)
  • Paint that bubbles over hollow-sounding wood

What you can do today, free

  • Don’t break open mud tubes before an inspection — evidence helps the inspector
  • Keep soil, mulch, and stucco lines below the slab edge so tubes stay visible
  • If a company quotes you a “termite spray” over the phone, hang up

Questions, answered straight

Why doesn’t Totalnix just treat them?

Termite work done right means baiting systems or structural treatment, a renewable bond, and WDO inspection credentials. Doing that halfway is how homeowners get burned, so we refer to specialists instead of dabbling.

What does Totalnix cover then?

Everything else on this site — general pest, lawn bugs, mosquitoes, rodents — with prices published. If our tech spots termite evidence during a visit, you’ll hear it straight, with photos.
