Fleas Ctenocephalides felis

The cat flea (which loves dogs just as much) does 95% of Florida’s flea damage. The bites at your ankles are adult fleas — but adults are 5% of the infestation. The eggs, larvae, and pupae in carpet and pet bedding are the other 95%, which is why one-shot foggers fail.

Signs you have them

  • Pets scratching, biting at the base of the tail
  • Pepper-like “flea dirt” in pet bedding that turns red when wet
  • Bites clustered around ankles and lower legs

What you can do today, free

  • Vacuum daily for two weeks — vibration triggers pupae to hatch into the treatment
  • Wash pet bedding hot, weekly
  • Treat the pet the same week the house is treated (vet products, not flea collars)

Questions, answered straight

Why are there still fleas two weeks after treatment?

Pupae are armored against everything until they hatch. Seeing stragglers hatch into a treated environment for 2–3 weeks is the treatment working, not failing. That’s also why our 48-hour re-treat guarantee matters.
