Spiders wolf spiders, widows, orb weavers

Most Florida spiders are rent-free pest control — orb weavers outside eat mosquitoes all night. The two worth respect are widows (black and brown) in undisturbed corners: garage clutter, meter boxes, under grill covers. Spider pressure indoors usually means there’s prey indoors, which is the real problem to fix.

Signs you have them

  • Webs rebuilt daily across walkways or eaves
  • Messy cobwebs low in the garage (widow territory)
  • Wolf spiders sprinting across floors at night

What you can do today, free

  • Knock down webs weekly with a broom — spiders relocate when rebuilding costs too much
  • Wear gloves reaching into meter boxes and under outdoor furniture
  • Shake out shoes stored in the garage

Questions, answered straight

Do you kill all the spiders?

We knock down webs, treat entry points, and control the insects spiders feed on — which is what actually lowers spider pressure. Outdoor orb weavers minding their business in a tree are working for you; we’ll say so.
